The fiddler Johanne Flottorp from Åmli in Telemark, plays the hardanger fiddle. She is deeply in respect of the traditions and her teachers, but transforms the tunes into her own material. Flottorp has already developed her own ‘language’ as a fiddler, and is considered a rising ‘star’ on the Norwegian folk music scene. Her self-titled solo album released in 2018, earned a nomination for the Norwegian Grammy Award.
