Travel information for Førde International Folk Music Festival   

The Førde International Folk Music Festival is held annually in Førde, a small, west-Norwegian town of some 11,000 inhabitants. Førde lies at cross-roads in Sogn og Fjordane, easily accessible from the rest of the country. Many of the festival events are held within an easy walking distance, while others include return bus transport to and from Førdehuset.

By bus:

By car:

From Oslo via Hemsedal, Lærdal and Skei – about 6 hours travel
From Bergen – about 3 hours including car ferry Oppedal-Lavik.


By boat/bus:

When travelling to the festival from Bergen, you can also take the Fjord1 ferries from Bergen city centre to Vadheim, and then bus to Førde.
